
History of the Museum
Nestled along the Thrissur–Kochi National Highway (NH 544) in Kodakara, Kerala, southern India, the Art Museum of Love is the world’s first art museum devoted exclusively to the theme of love. Founded in 2024 and curated by Dr. Unnikrishnan Pulikkal S., the museum offers a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and literary works that celebrate love in all its forms. From romance and friendship to compassion and sensuality, this unique space invites couples, families, students, and art lovers to explore the emotional and artistic expressions of one of humanity’s most profound experiences.

Founder & Curator
Unni Pulikkal S. is a physician and photo-artist born in Kerala, Southern India. In addition to his position as the Founding Director of PhotoMuse – The Museum of Photography, India, Dr. Pulikkal is a Senior Fellow of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in Creative Photography. He is also an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, London, England. He curates the Art Museum of Love at Kodakara, Kerala.
Unni Pulikkal’s contemporary photographic work is mostly conceptual photo-based art, creating archival pigment prints which are sometimes subjected to process-based manipulations such as over-painting, pigment toning, and other physical alterations. He is also working with a large-format film-based field camera, creating the final prints with historic photographic processes like cyanotype and platinum-palladium printing. Unni Pulikkal’s work has been exhibited internationally which includes the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Ohio, USA and the Industry and Film Museum in Wolfen, Germany, in addition to various venues in India, Australia, UK and the middle east.
