Intimacies Beyond Distances
Artist Joshe
Intimacies Beyond Distances explores how closeness between people can survive—even grow—despite physical separation, the passage of time, or emotional disconnection. In today’s world, shaped by migration, digital communication, and feelings of isolation, this exhibition asks us to rethink what it means to be connected.
Rather than just showing relationships or feelings, the artworks in this exhibition offer fresh ways to understand intimacy. They suggest that intimacy isn’t only about being physically near someone—it can also exist through absence, memory, imagination, and ritual. These creations reflect the emotional traces that remain even when words are unsaid, when people are far away, or when moments are captured and saved in digital form.
Using different materials and styles, Artist Joshe examine the layers of human connection—how it can be broken and rebuilt, remembered and reimagined. A letter that was never mailed, a family memory passed down, or a digital message preserved in code—these small moments speak to the power of relationships that reach beyond immediate contact.
As the curator, my goal has been to create more than just an art show. I hope to offer a thoughtful space—an environment where we can reflect on intimacy as something flexible, enduring, and deeply human. Intimacies Beyond Distances invites you not just to view the artworks, but to feel with them—to reflect on how we remain connected, even across time, silence, or distance.
